What an amazingly productive week I’ve had — and it’s only Tuesday! After two weeks off to care for personal matters, it feels great to be back in the swing of things. I’ve written a lot, and read even more. It seems to me there’s always more to learn and share about personal finance. I have the best job in the world! (Well, aside from this perhaps.)
Meditation offers a great way to dramatically decrease the stress in your life. But what is meditation, really? Is it hard? What’s the process like?

1. How do I define “happiness,” anyway?
2. Instead of happiness, which is fleeting/deceptive/egotistical/illusory, isn’t the real goal to achieve joy/contentment/satisfaction/peace/self-realization or [fill in the blank]?
“What do you expect me to say to that? Huh? What do you expect me to do?”
Okay, so those may not be the best words to throw out in a relationship (and saying them was definitely not one of my proudest moments), but just about everyone has either heard or dished out these or similar words during a confrontation with a significant other. Step One: Learn To Read Labels
The hardest thing about going sugar free is when you go to eat something like whole wheat bread and it has high fructose corn syrup (don’t let the commercials fool ya; it’s really not okay) or some other kind of refined sugars. Before you even begin to kick the sugar out, take a look at the foods you regularly eat and see how much sugar is packed into it.
I am a wine enthusiast (oh my, that sounds dorky). I subscribe to three wine magazines and listen to multiple wine podcasts per week (feel welcome to laugh). Some people like fixing up old cars or knitting or woodworking — I happen to like pairing the perfect bottle of wine with a well-crafted meal.
