Skype Now Sends Caller ID

Several months ago I tried using Skype and it wouldn’t allow you to display your Skype-In number as the caller id to people you were calling.  This was frustrating and I even sent a letter to the CEO of Skype about it.

Why my annual summer trip to Kansas City makes me so happy.

We’re in Kansas City now, visiting my parents. I look forward to this week all summer long.

Under-lit Galant work space

Len had a job for a few months where his office desperately needed to be refitted. With a limited budget, he went to Ikea to find a way to make his work area more cool and funky. He says, "I succeeded, and a lot of the credit goes to this really easy hack of a Galant desk. There are several pieces in the Galant family.

Cell Phones and Sleep

Some experiments seems to suggest that using a cell phone before going to bed can make it more difficult to fall asleep.  It seems that the radio waves can mess with the mind and excite it.  The effect is fairly subtle and is about equivalent to drinking half a cup of coffee, but still something to consider if you are having trouble going to sleep.

Skype Shortcoming

25 Painless Ways to Free Up an Hour a Day for Your Goals

“Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify.” - Henry David Thoreau What would you do if you had an extra hour a day? This is a common barrier I run into when I write about making positive life changes: people don’t have time to pursue their dreams. People don’t have time to exercise. People don’t have time to get organized.

Leverage, Luck, and Living Well: A Conversation with Financial Columnist Scott Burns

Can One Word Get You Slapped Or Hugged?

It was so subtle, I almost missed it… But, still, it was right there. Lingering. Making my daughter feel worse about herself, without her really getting why.
