Normally, I wouldn’t post something like this at Get Rich Slowly — this is why I have a personal blog — but I’m getting a lot of tweets and e-mail from folks about a piece of ephemera that has surfaced on the internet. It seems that somebody’s stumbled upon a list of the folks who were in the running for the various parts on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Imagine that I had in my possession the ultimate guide to life hacking. Imagine that I offered it to you with but one condition - that you must use it for good, not evil.Would you be interested? I get a lot of emails from people with the above statement, usually followed by some sort of plea for help. I have a lot of sympathy for their situation.

Career Renegade was just published in Traditional Chinese, which is the main language in Taiwan and Hong Kong (from what I’m told, going on faith, here).

Yesterday, Get Rich Slowly posted an article entitled Why I Buy Local, in which J.D. makes the case for buying from local suppliers, even if the costs are a bit higher, because of the secondary benefits.
J.D.’s support of local businesses goes quite a bit further than mine does.
You began with a glorious hallucination of what social media was going to do for your business, social life, and even writing ability. You tweeted, facebooked, and smothered Linked-in contacts with glowing recommendations. You commented on all the top blogs in your niche and dutifully updated your own blog on-schedule.
